ABOUT My name is Welliton Souza. I'm a passionate game developer, working professionaly with games for the last 3 years, mainly focusing on Technical Art , UI/UX and programming skills. I have develop many projects for game jams, wich provided me with the enchancement of my professional skills as well as learning more and more about Game Design and 2D Art . The projects have given me the opportunity to better understand the importance of intercommunication between all areas of game development.I truly believe that video games are the most impactful media to tell a story in which people can grow and experience moments from different perspectives. That's why I'm looking forward to making games that can talk to, entertain and make the difference in people's life.

PUBLISHED GAMES
Cobra Kai 2
Cobra Kai 2: Dojo's Rising I worked as a Technical Artist and later as a UI Technical Lead. There were numerous challenges around the implementations of the UI and game specific features, mainly:
- Organize the hierarchy of all UI elements in the best optimized way to avoid a high processing cost and unnecessary draw calls;
- Implementing all animations designed by the UI team, from tween script based animations to standard clips;
- Implement tween and UI Offscreen indicators systems to easely implement them,
- Creating Unity Tools to validate animations and to improve project organization.
Walking Dead Destinies
The Walking Dead: Destinies
As the UI Coordinador and Technical art, I worked closely with the programming team to implement all UI and HUDs of the game. Below I highlight some challenges I came across:
The development of UI Shaders on HLSL;
- Creation of the UI/UX implementation and development pipeline;
- The maintainance of all UI hierarchy and the assistance for the programming team with UI flow screen,
- Working closely with production to organize the team necessity on specific UI tasks.
Stand and Fight
Stand & Fight Stand and Fight project won the QuickPlay 2022 jam, hosted by Latinx in Gaming. As part of the prize, a full version version of the game was developed in only 6 months.
I worked as a UI/UX Designer, Programmer, Technical Artist and Game Designer with a very small team. It was very challenging to enhance a jam project to a full version of a jam game. I can highlight, between my responsibilities:
- Development of UI VFX and Shaders;
- UI systems that communicated with the gameplay components;
- Definition of a UI styleguide fitting the theme apropriated;
- Development and implementation of a scene management, localization, save/load, dialogue and score systems;
Stand and Fight
The Books tale: A Hop Adventure The game was released to Steam soon after its jam version won the 2022  CTRL+ALT Jam.
Previously know as Pathfinder in the jam version, i worked mainly with cutscene, voice over and UI/UX design and implementation. From this project, I can highlight:
- The creation of a UI/UX book design;
- The UI implementation and its animations;
- The Voice acting as the narrator of the game.
